How to Install
Downloading EasyBiomes and migrating to your project
Learn how to download EasyBiomes from Fab and migrate it into your Unreal Engine project, so you can start using the biomes right away.

Thank you for choosing EasyBiomes!
Follow these steps:
Installing:
● Download the latest version of the asset and open the downloaded project.
● Wait until shaders and assets finish compiling. Then open the demo level included with the package.
● Verify everything works. Try using Biome and SubBiome in the demo level.
● Once you’ve confirmed the download isn’t corrupted and your Unreal Engine installation is working correctly, open the Content folder in the Content Browser.
● Select the EasyBiomes folder, right-click it, and choose Migrate. In the migration window, click OK, then select your project’s Content folder and click OK again. Wait until migration is finished.
● If you already have other EasyBiomes assets in your project, Unreal may ask to replace files. Click Replace — our packs share common files, so this is expected.

Configuring:
● In File Explorer, open the downloaded project folder and navigate to Config.
● Copy DefaultEngine.ini and replace the one in your project.
● If you can’t replace it because your project already contains important settings, at minimum copy our Trace Channels setup into your project’s config.
● If your project settings conflict with EasyBiomes (for example, Distance Fields, Shader Formats, Default RHI, etc.), you’ll need to resolve those conflicts on your side. We can only guarantee stable results when using the included config file.

Enabling PCG:
● In your project go to Edit → Plugins
● Type PCG in the search bar.
● Enable Procedural Content Generation Framework (PCG).

Congratulations
You’re all set.
Updating:
● To stay up to date, check the Epic Games Launcher from time to time. When an update is available, you’ll see an Update button instead of Create Project.
● Before updating, back up your project.
● Then remove the EasyBiomes folder from your project and migrate it again from the updated downloaded project
● Maintaining backward compatibility across multiple versions is not feasible for a system of this complexity, so updates are delivered as a full replace workflow.
